Stephen P. Sherwood is an award winning writer, director and editor who also works in the film industry as a Video Playback Supervisor on feature films and TV series and has more than 60 credits on IMDb. Buying his first Super 8 camera in his teens, he produced short films in college then went on to join the US Navy where he trained as a Broadcast Journalist. Assigned as one of the Navy’s eleven TV & Motion Picture Scriptwriters at the Combat Camera Group in San Diego, he received numerous awards for his work. He trained in screenwriting at the American Film Institute in Hollywood and through the University of Southern California at San Diego.

He left the Navy to work for a Japanese production company (One Inch Video Productions) in Burbank, then took a job producing training videos for ARAMCO, the world’s largest oil company, in Saudi Arabia. After returning to the US, he worked at an advertising agency where he produced hundreds of commercials including a series for Nissan trucks which won him an Addy award.

He runs the Southern Screenwriters Guild, and is the Festival Diretor of the Southern Shorts Awards Film Festival. He has written a three-part sci-fi/fantasy mini-series, three features and more than a dozen shorts to date. He has Produced four of his shorts, all of which have won awards at multiple film festivals. He currently resides in Roswell, GA where he runs his own production company, Bright Forest Productions.
